Project's description

The Grand Paris Express project consists of the creation of 4 automatic driverless subway lines in Paris area (lines 15, 16, L17 and L18). Siemens is supplying the Driving automation for lines 15, 16 and 17 whom characteristics are the following: Line 15 is approx. 80km long in tunnel and includes 35 stations, Line 16 is approx. 31 km long in tunnel and includes 9 stations and Line 17 is approx. 21km long in tunnel and includes 6 stations.

Siemens solution is based on ATC TrainGuard CBTC V3, including or complemented by GPE-specific functions. The reference system is Siemens certified Product Trainguard CBTC V3x. The commissioning is planned in several phases from 2021 to 2027.

Scope of work

In this context, CERTIFER is involved as the Independent Safety Assessor for the Specific Applications of the Driving Automation to assess its compliance with CENELEC standards.
